DRIVER SKILLS CLINIC
Driver Skills is a one-day clinic learning car control when those situations come up. Drivers work 1 on 1 with our instructors at a pace appropriate for their comfort level. Skills taught include looking ahead, making smooth inputs, learning weight transfer, threshold braking, skid control and more. Note- this is not an Autocross- it is not a timed nor competitive event- in fact the day is designed around drivers who have never autocrossed and those who may not want to, but would like to learn more about their car. And Driver Skills is the opportunity to learn with an instructor instead of your spouse as a 'teacher'. All Porsche models are welcome, including Taycans, Panameras, Macans and Cayennes. You can participate with a non-Porsche vehicle. Note - no pickup trucks, lift kit equipped vehicles or vans.
During the day you'll encounter:
-Slalom
-Wet Skid Pad
-Threshold braking
-Accident avoidance (think lane change)
And a few other fun maneuvers as the course develops.
Helmets are not required :)

Event requirements
Helmets are NOT required.
Age and driver's license restrictions: You must be at least 16 years old and in possession of an unrestricted driver's license at the time of the event. For participants under 18 years old, the participant and his/her parents must sign additional waivers and the participant must attend with at least one parent or legal guardian. The additional waivers are available for download here: Waivers The parent or legal guardian is not required to participate, although we encourage families to participate together. Two drivers can share a vehicle and that option is often used for parent child pairs.
Two drivers/one car are welcome. Registration for driver/co-driver is easy and is available when you register for the event thru Motorsport Reg (MSR) via the link above. Only one driver plus the instructor will be in the car at one time...the co-driver will observe from the sideline until the driver has completed the exercise and then drivers can swap out. Note that PCA rules prohibit passengers other than an instructor in the car.
Car club membership: Membership in PCA or SCCA is not required however if we fill up and a wait list develops, preference is given first to PCA and SCCA club members..
Insurance: This event has the standard PCA liability insurance and you will be signing the standard PCA waiver at the event. Participants are responsible for their own vehicle insurance. Please check with your insurance carrier before registering if you are unsure of your coverage at Driver Skills. Remember, Driver Skills is an educational car control clinic, not a high speed driver education, not a competition and not a timed nor lapping event.
Vehicle Safety Inspection: You and your instructor will perform a basic vehicle safety inspection on-site at the venue. No professional technical inspection is required. We recommend you remove all loose items from the interior prior to arriving at Expo. Your car must meet the following requirements::
No loose gear inside the car or trunk
Seats securely mounted
Seat belts in place and functioning
Tires not worn out, must have plenty of tread left to complete the day
Brake pads not overly worn
Battery securely mounted
No dripping fluids
Lug nuts, wheel nuts, center-lock nuts tight
